Why MowLogic

Most robot-mower sites just list products. MowLogic starts with your lawn. Punch in your address, draw your boundaries, and our calculator picks the model that fits — by area, by slope, by navigation type. We're brand-agnostic: we'll recommend whichever robot mower best suits your block, not whichever brand pays the most.

If your block is too big for one unit, we'll suggest a multi-mower setup so the lawn still gets done — properly, every couple of days, all year round.

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers to the questions Australian buyers actually ask.

Do robot mowers actually work on Australian lawns?
Yes. Modern robot mowers handle the most common Australian turf types — kikuyu, buffalo, couch and ryegrass — with adjustable cutting heights typically from 20 mm to 70 mm. They mow little and often, mulching the clippings back into the lawn, which is exactly what these warm-season grasses prefer.
What about steep slopes and uneven ground?
All-wheel-drive (AWD) models can handle slopes up to about 75% (≈37°). Standard wheel-drive units are rated for moderate slopes, typically up to 45–50%. If your block is steep, the calculator will surface the AWD models first.
Is setup hard? Do I need a wire around the lawn?
Most modern robot mowers are wire-free. RTK GPS models use a small satellite reference unit mounted with a clear sky view; vision-based models use onboard cameras. Either way, you walk the boundary once with the manufacturer's app to define the mowing zones. Most installs take an afternoon.
Will it cope with kikuyu or thick buffalo?
Yes — provided you mow on a regular schedule (every 1–3 days in the growing season). Kikuyu and buffalo grow fast, so robot mowers shine here: little and often beats one heavy weekly cut. If the lawn has been let go, do a one-off heavy cut with a regular mower before the robot takes over.
What's the warranty and support like in Australia?
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer — typically 2 years on the mower and 1 year on the battery. Always confirm at point of sale. Most major brands now have local Australian distribution and support. MowLogic is a matchmaking site that helps you pick the right model for your lawn before you buy.
How does it compare to a regular mowing service?
A robot mower is a one-off purchase. A weekly mowing service in Australia typically costs $40–80 a visit. On a 600 m² block, even a $2,000 mower pays for itself in 6–12 months and you get a much better-looking lawn because it's cut every day or two instead of weekly.
Can it handle rain and our weather?
Most current robot mowers include a rain sensor and pause mowing when it rains, returning to the dock to charge. Bodies are typically IPX6 rated — fine to be left outdoors in normal Aussie weather. Long-term, the dock can sit under a small roof or carport for extra UV protection.
What's stopping anyone from stealing it?
Modern units are paired to your account, include GPS tracking, and are locked with a PIN. Removing one from its defined zone triggers an alarm and sends an alert. They're useless to a thief — they only operate inside the registered boundary.
